Sydney 2013

Australian Red Cross is delighted to welcome delegates of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement, as we host the 2013 Statutory Meetings.

It is an honour to open our doors to more than 1,000 representatives of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and National Societies from 188 countries.

This special occasion is a unique opportunity to share and learn best practices with our global neighbours setting the upcoming agenda for the largest humanitarian organisation in the world.

As we bring together the great minds of our Movement, we’re also extremely proud to:

  • Showcase the work of the Australian Red Cross
  • Highlight the work of the Movement in the Asia Pacific region
  • Create opportunities for our volunteers who support us in helping people in need every day.

It will be the very first time Australia has hosted this prestigious event and only the third time it has ever been held in the Southern Hemisphere. We think that’s cause for celebration.

So, as well as the chance to participate in a host of interesting and engaging presentations, debates and workshops, you’ll get the opportunity to unwind and enjoy some Aussie hospitality while you’re here.

What to expect

Held every two years, the General Assembly and Council of Delegates are the peak-decision making meetings of the International Federation and the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement.

The comprehensive program of seminars, workshops and networking opportunities on offer this year promises something to inspire every delegate.

Full details for all meetings are currently being finalised and will be available on the website closer to the event dates. Please bookmark this page and make a note in your diary to check back here for updates.

Alternatively, you will also be able to access event specific program information directly by visiting the General Assembly information page or the Council of Delegates information page.

Again, welcome to Sydney 2013. We can’t wait to see you down-under this November!
